Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP)

What

The Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) works to build resilient and sustainable agriculture and food systems in low-income countries in times of crisis and beyond. GAFSP provides countries, agribusinesses, and smallholder farmers with financial and technical resources to design and implement projects across the food value chain, from 'farm to table'.

GAFSP aims to improve food and nutrition security and build the sustainability of agriculture and food systems in the medium- to long-term by providing financial and technical resources – grants, concessional loans, blended finance, technical assistance, and advisory services – to projects along the entire agriculture value chain, from ‘farm to table’.

How

GAFSP allocates funds for public and producer organisation-led projects based on competitive, open, calls for proposals that have clear, transparent guidelines set forth by the GAFSP Steering Committee.

Successful proposals are selected based on recommendations of an independent review conducted by global agriculture experts (Technical Advisory Committee) and then selected through a competitive process by the Steering Committee.

The Guidelines for Producer Organizations are the principal reference and provide a clear guide for the submissions.

Applicants are expected to submit their complete submissions in two parts: an expression of interest (EOI) and Full Proposal Template.
